BEST PICTURE AWARD 2007

Philippines Victory!!! for “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo” movie for winning the Best Picture award and Judy Ann Santos as it’s lead actress, achievement as Best Actress during the 55th FAMAS Awards night. While the Best Actor trophy went to Cesar Montano for his movie “Ligalig” a suspense thriller movie.

The main stars of the wining movies were not there to personally received their trophy….which just shows negative and a rude attitude. They became "No.1" of "the ranking of actresses and actors I hate" now. In this case, people might criticized them even they offered the apologies before hand, such awardings should be honored and respected.

The trend item I bought accidentally

I impressed to see the different charms sold as I entered SM Bacoor Paradise Philippines . I know some stones are being used for health, personal, religious meanings to them, even when I’m in the bingo station sometimes, I noticed women wearing a bracelet with different kinds of stones.

Out of my curiosity, the trend item I bought accidentally were these precious stones. From the time I wore this stuff, I felt a kind of peace and a lot blessings comes in me. For those who have interest in this subject, check out the traditional meaning of these stones meanings which I gathered from the internet- http://www.crystal-cure.com/jewelry-bracelets.html

Three days week end over

I rest my blog for a few days for some personal reasons.

I can't find any good topics to tell. Actually this week is hard every day. Three days weekend is just over and really I’ve been busy hmmm… these are petty unusual for me. I like the escada perfume and the doll, of course, the guerlain spf 20 compact foundation. Thanks for the stuff!!! I went to see a friend in Nikko Dusit Hotel, enjoyed the amenities of the hotel and enjoyed the Japanese food for dinner. Check this out, a new style of restaurant has opened, Italian Restaurant named, 'Tosca', (comes from the famous Italian opera by Giacomo Puccini that premiered in 1900.) the newest Italian restaurant serving flavorful menu and extensive wine selections for all Italian food lovers. OF COURSE! I have never been there, I will try if somebody treat me. For me, this fine restaurant is really one of a kind and sounds delicious to me. Since I am super “Italian culture fan", I want to try this one!

For my granddaughter who just came from Dubai, thanks for the big hug and kisses, it throws away my loads and strengthen our ties….makes me feel important. I love you Juju!!!

Thou Shall, Thou Shall Not….

The great preparation that beloved Moses endured to withstand and absorb the true meaning of each Commandment of God so he could teach and be fulfilled took many more days of time than men have translated it to be. Each commandment, when delivered, had a power in it, God-given, else it could never have remained such a solid state for all years. It would have been cast aside and then forgotten, as so many biblical stories have been.

In the 11th anniversary issue of FOOD, The Philippine Largest Selling Culinary Magazine, expert chefs, culinary instructors, shared their own commandments for virtuous of cooking, and without meaning to do God one better instead of 10, they imparted 11 commandments of “Thou Shall & Thou Shall Not”.

  1. Thou shall familiarize thyself with the Mailard reactions.
  2. Thou shall not kill natural flavors.
  3. Thou shall cook with good wine.
  4. Thou shall season and let the layers of flavors to develop.
  5. Thou shall simmer.
  6. Thou shall use only high-quality ingredients.
  7. Thou shall be joyful while cooking.
  8. Thou shall be organized in the kitchen.
  9. Thou shall always trust thy own taste.
  10. Thou shall salt lightly at the start of cooking.
  11. Thou shall be patient.
We just don’t want to get the point of fancy cuisine, no matter how much we all know, or think we know about cooking, there are always valuable lessons out there on food preparation waiting to be learned. If we cook the recipe correctly, it’s a heavenly taste will be your reward. With a bit of imagination, it can become a festival of flavors, even better it will make your guests oooh! and ahhh! over your recipe and compliment you on how serene and unfazed you look despite all the preparations and cooking you did.

So, dear readers, remember the 11 Commandments, and from hereon, go forth and sin no more.

Let the clean-up begin….

“clean- up all spilled juices and thoroughly rinse”. “clean door racks and reinstall,” put fridge back into place – and keep it clean,

Before you begin this "clutter thing", it's time to consider a lot about the stuff in your life. I mean, well and truly think about it. While the idea is necessary to get your house clean-up and organized, the essential feature is not to get so wrapped up in the outer appearance of it that you slipped to make it your home.

A house is just “A building that functions as a shelter or location of something”, but a HOME is more.

A home is a valued place, "a place in which one's domestic affections are centered" (Webster's American Family Dictionary).

There is a big sense of significance. Your house is where you live. Your home is where you create love and harmony. Your house is the structure; in your home is where you feel the foundation. To make your house to its greater extent the more risk you become having less of a home for you and the rest of your family.

In a relationship, infidelity is a wasted clutter that shatters even the strongest relationship leaving behind a feeling of betrayal and guilt. The harm caused by unfaithfulness, cheating is very real, often a death blow. Walls are broken, shattered vows, pain and shock, a profound loss of self-respect, a depression, and a real home-wrecker. While getting your house organized, go to the heart of your home when you need to see how it really looks. Look past the repairs. Look beyond messes. Instead, look at your family. Look at you. Repairing the damage of infidelity takes a great commitment. Healing and building trust take time, mending the broken heart, healing the wounded, and restoring the integrity of love.

“Healing is a beautiful experience and can lead to a healthy change in the relationship in which both partners can grow and enjoy a new-found sense of closeness”, (Eph. 2:21-22).

Have you become a "slave" of something? Let the clean-up begin!!!

Confidence is Key

Beauty means confidence, says Jojo, a Singer and a Signature Stylist, ‘it means having something on the inside and having it show on the outside”. “That’s more beautiful than any canvas you can decorate.” “ Having something of substance is way more beautiful.” “Physical beauty is just icing on the cake.”

Very well said.

In our country where fashion has been spinning out of control inspite of high and social economic cost many are still sensible, not to mention fashionable. They have always the looks of sophistication and sassy sense of style. From casual styles to dressier looks, latest accessories, colorful gemstones, bracelets, fashion totes, well, I think the all must have in this luxurious generation; they won’t really missed it especially fragrance of different brands. I don’t like to sound some kind of old fashioned or K.J (kill joy). Nothing last forever like self-esteem, a morale booster of your confidence though you many lack dazzling accessories, etc.

While one emphasized the expression and gives importance on outer beauty in its lustrous and attractive meaning, not much is actually a word about the meaning of inner beauty. A lot of us get hypnotized by what we see in fashion magazines influenced by what we read- most women feel terribly insecure and their self esteem takes a real beating if they find themselves ugly and overweight. True beauty comes within not for creams and cosmetics. Some never eats a full meal just nibbles a piece of all day trying to get rid of few pounds expecting for a miracle to happen. They’re battling, even exposing themselves to harm and dangering their lives, a frightening disposition and obsession to slim down and model like...

Let’s work on the image of yourself that you are trying to project. The feeling of hopelessness every time you opened the glossy can’t help you look good even you try real hard. To start off find a consistent exercise program that fits into your lifestyle and that you can do most days of the week. This will get you to the place where you are strong, fit and at -- or close to -- your ideal body weight. Center ourselves and dwell on how we can face the world with a presence and with enthusiasm as our trademarks, well, we can say that half the battle is won.
But How to accomplish this? Now. this does not mean that you have to go out and spend an exceptional amount of money to get the outside to match how you feel on the inside... discover the inner world of beauty tips to encourage positive thinking and thoughts throughout the day with these best powers thinking ideas and behaviors, beauty with style and confidence: -

1. Tell yourself that you are beautiful. Being you is beautiful.

2. You have a lot to celebrate your good points and learn to enhance them.

3. Project your positive qualities and simply nurture them.

4. Boot out of your system any bad qualities, (oh no! please don’t squirm!) Negative qualities (self-centered, meanness, betrayals, intolerance, arrogance) consciously and you will feel better sense of self-worth.

5. Acknowledge your achievements and accomplishments. You will find yourself standing tall and always with a smile on your face.

6. Learn to appreciate for who you are.

7. Give yourself a treat to make you feel good, spoil yourself once in a while to a lovely, relaxing massage, go for a long walk with your husband, and friends, visit a spa, go to the movies with friends.

8. Restore your self.

Remember that true beauty lies inside you. Learn to nurture that inner beauty. Learn from your experiences and where you come from. Have the pleasure of life, and not fear it. Cast off all the old baggage you've been carrying around for years - it is simply not worth it to allow these to haunt you.

As a finale, cheer up your day with Eleanor Roosevelt’s word “No one can make you feel inferior without your permission”.

Pass it on….

Happy Birthday Mom!!!!

Despite the upset, the bond remains…

The never ending issues about a stereotypical relationship about mother’s closeness for their sons whereas the daughter’s remains spoiled considering daddy’s little princess. Much of my memories traces twenty five years back at a young age my daughter imitate exactly my style- wears my high heels shoes, carrying a shoulder bag, smears her lipstick and copy my appearance and mannerism - my complete replica.

In many cases, mother and son had a very close relationship and become attached when the son was growing up and reached maturity, while the father is either physically and emotionally absent. First hand experience that “You have to be there” is the first ever ROLE of my son experience, probably didn’t think of any circumstances that would separate us. Another woman comes in the picture. The first real girlfriend that starts a gradual separation when my son got married. I had no choice. Often, a mother with no clear boundaries will say Yes, thinking that makes her a good Christian and a good mother. The fear of losing the relationship is “unnatural” when you’re sure you never do anything to upset the relationship.

But just as the teens entered the new era of history, the mother becomes the most ignorant, uninformed and inexperienced creature from outer space! Now, “I’m a big girl” attitude all I can hear from my daughter and another message, “No need to remind me” from my son. Side by side through the struggles, hardships and overcoming obstacles- the walls are broken! Though hurt, ignored and frustrated… regardless of the sleepless nights filled with worries, despite any circumstances, family separation, the mother understood and supported her children and spread her wings. The expression of her contentment seeing her children shine, herself staying from a secret view, watching them accomplish their dreams and taking pride in discussing their insignificant achievements. She ignored her interests in letting her children fulfill theirs.

I see, now, I’ve learned to let off the steam, released the past, that by pushing I may push them away from me, and I don't want that. I want to be able to give them the opportunity of freedom to be the woman and man they wanted to be. It's a beautiful thing, not something I need to fear. This positive reinforcement from a mother not only makes them feel more trusted and appreciated but fills them with a sense of security as well. The expectations as the children entered a new phase of life should be adjusted to the changing phases. It is important to understand that they are not generally not organized in their thoughts and are often processing their feelings while they speak, and thus, their words may seem strange or impulsive at times.

As your son and daughter are entering a new phase of her life – both must recognize the styles of communication, exchange of thoughts and behavioral messages. While the daughter may seem withdrawn suddenly, the mother must learn not to take it personally, rather accept that her growing daughter needs space to work things out in her own way. And a son getting married is more than a desire for independence and a search for individuality. Nevertheless, as your children grow, they start to realize the weight of their mother's love and the intense depth of her commitment in their life. As maturity levels increase, they would realize the good intentions of their mother which earlier seemed like constant nagging. They learned to get up after every fall, dust and keep going and most importantly realized the fundamentals of life on which they can continually fall back upon in life.

Now we are ‘best friend’ to each other. The heart-to-heart talks, intimate conversations, sharing fun and laughter, the priceless and objective advices, sharing a deep understanding and unconditional love; the relationship nurtures, this time, on a comfortable zone. Baring their heart the relationship is healed, restored and strengthened. On the same wave length, my daughter and son become better friends. Both realizes their imperfection and are not reluctant to acknowledge that. Where as my daughter appreciates what I had done for the family, my son, too, respects my opinions and considers advices.

There is appreciation for inheriting the mother’s sensitivity, empathy, wisdom, willpower, dedication, courage, firmness and perseverance; gratification for her unconditional love, encouragement, prayers and belief; and respect for all the things valued in life, while the children becomes a pillar for support for the mother in the later years. This love-hate relationship may go through innumerable struggles, conflicts and disagreements, but no other relation is as perfect as this complex but strong bond shared between a MOTHER, SON AND A DAUGHTER.

MODEL PARENT VS. MODEL CHILDREN

I walked into my teenager's room and all I can see are posters of teen idols wearing too much makeup and too little clothing, I spot an item of clothing lying around, accessories and a lot of stuff around their bed. Obviously, the character that teens today model themselves after are a far cry from Maria Clara lifestyle……. Yet with the television and peer pressure that teens are faced with, it's no wonder that they act, dress up and look the way they do. Teens choose models for themselves as early as the preschool years. They choose models for themselves who they see as having particular characteristics that they have. It’s OK to look great, be cool and act cool are the standards teens need to hear. Whatever the reasoning maybe for choosing a particular model the support of the parent is a good way to reach teens and provide them with positive models they can identify with.

While teenagers often choose role model because they truly want to be, the best thing for the parent to do is act appropriately. Despite, how it may appear, parents are the first powerful role model for children. Try to tolerate that hideous poster on the bedroom door –that is a relatively safe way for the child to rebel. When your child look elsewhere, they will look at your reaction and you will be their new ‘role model’.

I’m sure that the foundation parents provide their children when they are young will see them through yet another difficult stage of parent-teen relationship.

I hope that I’ve sent the right meaning to my kids in terms of aspirations, determination and appearances to copy and what not to. I can’t deny that they are teenagers and we won’t agree on everything. Right now, I am contented knowing that they may look somebody else for modes of dress, and they’ll also look to be successful and learn the perseverance and satisfaction from a job well done. Congrats!!!
